Frequently asked questions

How are centimetres converted to pixels?

Pixels equal centimetres divided by 2.54, multiplied by DPI, rounded to the nearest whole pixel. Inches are multiplied directly by DPI. At 300 DPI, 3.5 × 4.5 cm becomes 413 × 531 pixels.

Does DPI improve a blurry photo?

No. Enlarging a small image cannot recover detail. The output includes a JPEG DPI tag, but rounding to whole pixels means physical measurements are approximate.
